4001 MG
Year: 1973
Finish: Mapleglo
Obtained new in 1973 from 'Dandelion' in Huddersfield Yorkshire. This was a replacement for my first 4001 purchased in 1972 which had full width inlays but which sadly shed its fretboard at the nut.
'Dixie' the shop owner had 2 more 4001's on the wall one Jetglo, one Mapleglo and offered me either, I chose this one, put it in my case and went back on tour. Six months later I stripped the guitar to clean it and under the laquer in the control cabvity is the name of a person who worked on it in the factory, the initials and surname are exacly the same as mine..........strange ......
This guitar was used by me on the album 'Axe Victim" by Be-Bop Deluxe.

4080
Year: 1975
Finish: Mapleglo
Found this guitar in Tampa Florida in 1992, perfect condition but with wobbly necks. On this model there's not much wood for the screws holding the screw on necks to grip when the pickup cavities are cut. So using aircraft alloy the neck joints were strengthened to make both necks stay in tune, converting them to true bolt on necks.

360/12V64
Year: 1988
Finish: Fireglo
Apparently the guy who bought this from new was a Beatles fan and all he ever did was look at it as he couldn't play a note. He had the whole 9 yards including the Ludwig drum kit, but had to part with some stuff to pay some bills, (only in America) .
I walked into my friends store a couple of hours after he bought it , end of story. |

460/6 MG
Year: 1966
Finish: Mapleglo
I can't describe how this guitar just attaches to your body, set neck version , weighs nothing, and the action is to die for, intonation is perfect and the tone.........enuff said.
Apparently only 24 were made in Mapleglo throughout the sixties and 12 were made in 1966. |

456 FG
Year: 1967
Finish: Fireglo
This guitar slept in its case for over a quarter of a century, collecting smells and goo you don't need to know about. Totally 100% original, and save for some minor marking gained in its 40 year life , is in beautiful condition, but wait, this guitar is a paradox.Tuned as a 12 string it plays like a dream even with the cast bridge , the action is so low the pickups barely rise above the surface of the pickguard, the intonation is superb, But here's the VOODOO , engage the comb and pull the six octave strings out of the playing area , increasing their pitch by a semi- tone at least and she stays in tune ......How does that work???? .Did someone sell their soul in the sixties, I dont know but these guitars are something else. |

4005FG
Year: 1978
Finish: Fireglo??????
If Rickenbacker ever did an 'OrangeGlo' this is it. Totally original ,its the same colour under the pickguard so no fading etc. This guitar is widely photographed on the net but with its original high gain pickups. Today it has a pair of contemporary 1972 toasters fitted , the original pickups are in the original case. Just like the one in the 'Oasis 'Video, .........Mint Condition..

4001
Year: 1974
Finish: Black
Bought 3 years ago as a Mapleglo. which actually turned out to be 'Grey Primer Glo". Good news was that all the important stuff was OK so decided to give this the 'best of everything from over the years' treatment
Starting with great resonant maple body and neck, the neck and body binding were removed and the body reshaped to the 4000 profile. The neck was reshaped, and the fretboard painted black to match the rest of the guitar.
New Zealand Mother Of Pearl Dot markers replaced the triangle inlays . The neck pickup was replaced with a 7.4K reissue scatterwound toaster, the bridge pickup is a Hybrid reissue Horseshoe, using all the Horseshoe components except for the bobbin. A standard 4003 high gain coil assembly is used but with the flat magnet and the pole pieces removed and rare earth neodym magnets used as new pole pieces
A Black RickysSounds replacement pickguard and Genuine Rickenbacker TRC complete the look . All other hardware is original 1974.
